Abstract

The experiment was developed at Unidade de Pesquisa e Desenvolvimento de Gália- SP, APTA/SAA, on 2004, to evaluate the heterosis of generations F1(s), resulting of directed crosses. Eight Bombyx mori L.races, four of chinese origin (C201, C202, C213 e C214) and four of japanese origin (B101, B102, B103 e B109) were crossed, according to their origin, producing the generations F1(s): C403 (C201 x C202), C427 (C213 X C214), B203 (B101 X B102) and B212 (B103 X B109). When the biological and productive performance ( cocoon weight-PC, cocoon shell weight-PCS, chrysalis weight-PCr and silk net purport-TS) was analysed, the simple hybrid B203 highlighted. In the main the character PCS presented greater degree of heterosis. With regard to heterosis, calculated over mid parent value (VMP) and better parent value, for the different characters, it was observed greater values for simple hybrid C403.The hybrid C427 presented smaller performance and smaller values of heterosis.
