Abstract

The experiment was carried ou at the seed laboratory of the instituto de Zootecnia in Nova Odessa (SP). It was studied thirteen treatments with hot water for scarification of Leucaena leucocephala seeds. The results achieved in the germination and vigour tests showed that although it could be used higher temperatures, the one at 60°C showed high percentage of germination without compromising the vigour of the seedlings. The employment of 0w temperature of 60°C needs less attention to the exposition time, making easier its utilization in the field.
