Abstract

With the aim to compare the size and the weight of seeds, the medium level of potencial energy with a Parr Bomb Calorimeter and the total dry matter production by the cotiledons, this experiment was set in the Estaçto Experimental Central of the of five forage legumes: Stizolobium aterrimum, Instituto de Zootecnia in Nova Odessa, using seeds Dolichos lablad, Ga1acti striata, Glicyne wightii and Indigofera hendecaphylla. The achieved results showed that the soya bean had higher level of energy per gram, the level of energy decreased with the decrease of the weight of the seeds; there was correlation between energy and fat for D. lablab, G. striata and I. hendecaphylla; the weight of the dry matter production was always inferior to the initial weight of he seeds; he germination increased as temperaure and relative humidity increased.
