Abstract

This work was carried out at the Unidade Experimental de Sericicultura de Limeira, State of São Paulo, with the objective to compare the productivity of six mulberry tree varieties of the Morus alba L. specie. The six varieties, Catania-Paulista, Catania 1, Moretiana, Nezumigaezi, Calabresa e Fernão Dias, were cultivated in a randomized block design with four replications. The data obtained was relative to three consecutive years and the first reach the following conclusions: 1) The Catania€” Paulista variety was statistically superior to Calabresa variety in green leaves production; 2) There were not significative differences among the varieties in branches, and leaves more branches production; 3) The data did not confirm the results obtained by Paolieri & Frota2 in green leaves production.
