Abstract

The experiment was carried out during three years on six years old pasture of Paspalum notatum at Estação Experimental de Nova Odessa (SP), Brazil. A randomized block design with five replications was used and the treatments were: A) Phosphorus and mineral nitrogen; B) Phosphorus and a mixture of five tropical legumes; C) Phosphorus alone and D) Control. Results of three years indicated that the treatment A was significantly superior to the others in dry matter and protein production per hectare. Also phosphorus plus legume treatment was superior to both Phosphorus and Control treatments in dry matter and protein production.
