Abstract

The present trial was carried out at the Seção de Sericicultura, Campinas, during the summer of 1970, viewing a comparison between the traditional grass frame used in silkworm rearings since 1940, and the new plastic one, both made in the same cylindrical shape. There were studied 8 treatments x 4 replications with parcels of a thousand silkworrn each. At the end of the experiment, it was concluded that the worms preferred the plastic frames, and it was observed that they were able to climb them quicker than the grass-made ones.
