Abstract

The present work was carried out viewing a comparison among several breeding methods, such as the Brazilian, the Japanese and the usual one €” related to their development and productivity. Three treatments and six replications were studied and tests taken during spring of 1966, at Centro de Pesquisa Agropecuária Centro-Sul (Research Center), in Campo Grande, in the State of Guanabara. Though the methods had not showed statistical differences up to the level of 5%, the Brazilian and the Japanese ones revealed to be superior to the usual method, considering their biological and technological characteristics. In this work it was possible to prove that the Brazilian method is less expensive than the others, because it requires less work and satin paper is not needed.
