Abstract

The purpose of this study was to measure the retention of cadmium in the kidney; liver; bone and in the glandular and muscular tissue in 21 heifers Santa Gertrudis breeders treated with a single intratesticular dose of 0.010 g of cadmium. The cumulative Cd in the kidney and liver was 0.5680 and 0.3430ppm (P < 0.01) killed at intervals between initial of the experiment and two years after dosing. Concentrations of Cd in muscle tissue were relatively low, allowing its inclusion in the chemical formula to castration on heifers.
