Abstract

The trial was carried out at Estaç5o Experimental Central, in Nova Odessa, State of São Paulo, Brazil. in an area where the Setaria anceps Stapf. ex. Massey cv. Kazungula and Galactia striata (Jacq.) Urb. were grown. The experiment design was a split plot one, with four replications. The effect of two height (7.5 and 15.0cm) and three frequency (6, 9 and 12 weeks) were studied on yield. The results were: the best dry matter production was obtained by Kazungula, in the frequency (12 weeks) and height (7.5cm) and by mixture Kazungula-Galactia in the frequency (12 weeks) and height (15.0cm). There wasn€™t significant effect crude production, and the crude porcentage decreased when the frequency decreased too.
