Abstract

This experiment was conducted at the Posto de Avicultura de Brotas, State of São Paulo, Brazil, in order to evaluate the effect of restrictive feeding time and enzyme supplementation on the productivity of post-peaked laying hens. The birds had access to feed for four hours (7 to 9 am and 1 to 3 pm), six hours (7 to 10 pm and 1 to 4 pm) or €œad libitum€. Enzyme supplementation did not influence egg production, egg weight or feed conversion. The highest egg production was observed in the birds fed €œad libitum€ but was statically different only from the one observed in the birds fed for four hours (P‰¤ 0.05). The treatments did not affect egg weight: The best feed conversion was observed in the birds that had access to the feed for six hours and was different only from the feed conversion present by full fed birds (P‰¤ 0.05).
