Abstract

The experiment was conducted to evaluate the performance and carcass characteristics of fifteen castrated male and fifteen female assigned to three treatments as follow T1 = 16% - 14% of crude protein, T2 = 14% - 12% of crude protein and T3 = 12% - 10% of crude protein for growing and finishing period, respectively. All diets have same percentage on lysine and metionine. The performance results to T1, T2 and T3 were respectively daily live weight gain (g) 865, 826 and 584 (P < 0.05); daily feed intake (g) 2,487, 2,373 and 1,872; feed weight gain 2.87; 2.87 and 3.24 (P < 0.05). Carcass measurements were unaffected by treatments. Females showed lower bacfat thickness than castrated in treatments T1 and T3 (P < 0.05).
