Abstract

Seventy-four piglets three weeks old were used to survey the effects of diets containing 0%, 15% and 30% of dried whole whey from 6.03 to 19.65 kg live weight. The diets were fomulated to contain same ratio of crude protein/digestible energy and crude protein/lisine. All diets were offered adlibiturn, and growth response was compared between period I (0-3 weeks) and period II (0-5 weeks). During period II the daily gain (g/day/an) and food intake (g/day/an) (Y) were related to percentage of dried whole whey in diets (X) in a quadratic fashions described by the followings equations Y = 350.5 + 7.983X - 0.221X2 for daily gain and Y = 630.5 + 8.899X - 0.225 X2 for food intake. No effect of diets was observed on food convertion ratio.
