Abstract

The present work was done with the aim of evaluating differences in the chemical composition of leucaena under two levels of defoliation (with and without). Defoliation treatment resulted in higher amount of young vegetative material, carrying differences (P< 0.05) on chemical composition. CP, IVOMD and fermentation were higher (P< 0.05) in the defoliation treatment plants than in the plants without defoliation. Meanwhile CF, NDF and ADF were lower (P< 0.05).
