Abstract

This research was held lo verify the immunization effects against bovine mastitis and its consequence on the milk production. It was used 28 Mantiqueira type cows, from the Estação Experimental de Zootecnia de Pindamonhangaba-SP, during one lactation period. The cows were submited to €œCalifomia Mastilis Test€ (CMT) at the 2lth day post parturition and were distributed in 4 treatmens: A: control (no levamisole and vaccine application); b: Levamisole application; C: vaccine application (pool pyogenic bacterial cepa) and D: vaccine + Levarnisole application. The cows received these treatments at the 2lth, 35th €˜.49th and l80th days. Blood and milk samples were submited to the following tests: CMT, pH, white blood cells counting, dosage of immunoglobulins, total protein, albumin and isolation and identification of microorganisms. The statistical analysis showed no significant differences between treatmens for all the variables measured.
