Abstract

Sixteen castrataed male sheep were used in a completely randomized design to evaluate the apparent digestibility of sugar cane fed after the concentrate ingestion, based on soybean meal, corn and urea at 0, 1/9, 2/9 and 1/3 level of total N diets, which were 12¨of crude protein. Sheep fed 60% sugar cane plus 40% concentrata diets in dry matter. Differences among treatments were not significant (p>0,05). The inclusion of urea at 1/3 of level total N diets provided digestibility of dry matter, crude protein and total digestible nutrients of 70.6, 72.9 and 72.1%, respectively. This treatment provided lower cost index in relation to another groups, showing that this procedure can be applicable to commercial systems.
